ADA took part in the interregional dialogue on family farming, held in Cairo on July 7–8, 2025. This major event brought together representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa, with the goal of sharing experiences, strengthening partnerships, and promoting innovative solutions for the sustainable development of family farming.
Jointly organized by the FAO Regional Offices for Latin America and the Caribbean, and for the Near East and North Africa, the dialogue highlighted the key challenges faced by smallholder farmers and rural families. Discussions focused on crucial themes such as inclusive innovation, climate change adaptation, and sustainable rural transformation.
During the session dedicated to access to finance and financial services, ADA presented Morocco’s experience in strengthening family farming through the implementation of the Green Morocco Plan and the Generation Green 2020–2030 strategy. It particularly emphasized the solidarity-based agriculture program, a support mechanism that mobilizes public investment to assist small farmers, youth, and rural women in vulnerable areas.
This initiative underscores the importance of international cooperation to improve farmers’ livelihoods and build more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
