ADA and FAO jointly launch the pilot project "Agri-accelerator 2.0 for responsible agricultural investment in Morocco"
On July 16th 2024, the FAO office in Morocco, in collaboration with the ADA, organized a launch workshop for the pilot project "Agri-accelerator 2.0 for responsible agricultural investment in Morocco." This is a support program for young agricultural entrepreneurs, both men and women, already engaged in responsible small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in high-potential regions and sectors. The objective is to create support structures to stimulate and support responsible investment projects that have a positive social and economic impact on communities.
The workshop featured a speech by Mr. El Mahdi ARRIFI, Director General of the ADA, highlighting the importance of the program within the framework of the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy, particularly to achieve strategic goals aimed at encouraging a new generation of young agricultural entrepreneurs through better economic inclusion in rural areas.
Mr. ARRIFI also emphasized the importance of operationalizing the project in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region due to the agricultural opportunities it offers. In conclusion, he expressed his sincere thanks to the FAO office in Morocco for its continued support and valuable assistance in the agricultural sector, as well as for the fruitful partnership with the Agricultural Development Agency.
The workshop also saw the participation of the representative of the FAO office in Morocco and the Regional Director of Agriculture for Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, as well as representatives from various central, regional, and provincial services of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Agricultural Advisory Office, and various partners from the regional ecosystem.
