A remarkable presence of Morocco at the Agricultural Forum in Panama

The General Director of the Agency for Agricultural Development  (ADA), Mr. El Mahdi ARRIFI, was appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forestry, to represent the Department of Agriculture in the Republic of Panama in Central America from 24 to 27 October 2023. This visit followed an invitation from the President of the National Council of Private Enterprises to participate in the Agricultural Forum in Panama, in coordination with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco.

During his intervention in this forum, the General Director presented the great experience of Morocco in agricultural development, particularly as part of the strategy of the Green Morocco plan and its pioneering achievements. He also presented the "Green Generation 2020-2030" strategy, emphasizing the importance it places on the human element in the agricultural sector, and on the development of competitive, sustainable and climate resilient agriculture. 

This visit was an opportunity for the Director General to meet with the Minister of Agricultural Development of the Republic of Panama to establish fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural field.

Mr. El Mahdi ARRIFI also held several meetings with senior panamanian officials, including the President of the National Council of Private Enterprises, the President of the Chamber of Industry, Trade and Agriculture, the Director General of the National Institute for Vocational Training and Human Development, and the Executive Secretary of the National Advisory Council for Development. 

Panamanian officials expressed great appreciation for Morocco’s remarkable experience in the agricultural sector, as well as their desire to benefit from this expertise to develop the agricultural sector in the Republic of Panama.
